Elves

Members of this race get a +4 against low-light vision penalties. However, this does not give them +4 to hit in normal daylight conditions. Moreover, their enhanced vision does not let them detect invisible creatures. The penalty for their enhanced sight is that they suffer a -1 penalty in very bright light and save at -1 against all light-based attacks. Elves also get a 20% stealth capability. This ability is similar to the innate power Camouflage, albeit at a 20% efficiency.

Elves have a very low metabolism and thus get by on a 1,700 calorie per day diet. They require only 5 hours of sleep per night. Their bodies reject the presence of most types of animal blood in their food, and thus their diet lend more toward vegetarianism. They can eat fish and other aquatic animals without harm, but partaking of red meat always results in food poisoning.

Sociologically, Elves are fairly aloof, although not to the degree that the Fey are. Elves often form small, reclusive communities in South Point and frequently keep to themselves. Elven adventurers are exceptions to the rule. Elves make good Rangers and Shaman, given their affinity to nature. They loathe the Dwarves, who seek to harness natural forces rather than peacefully coexist with them.
